"Conference In A Box" is a 7 DVD set featuring an array of conference sessions from the "Christian Musician Summit", or CMS conferences. The big idea behind this resource is to provide Worship Teams, bands, leaders, and Christian musicians with the same information that can be found by attending a conference but in one complete, affordable package. I would certainly say that the creators of "Conference In A Box" have accomplished this.

"Complete" and "affordable" are two words that most accurately sum up this resource. It's complete because there are eleven full sessions contained on the DVDs including drumming, worship leading, vocal, band workshop, guitar, piano, theology, bass guitar, writing and recording, critical listening, worship ministry and more. Also included are the "CMS Live" video sessions which are live conference performances by folks like Abe Laboriel & Friends, Starfeild, Brenton Brown, Andy Park, Kelly Carpenter and others. This is a clever way of giving the viewers a real taste of what it is like to be at the conference attending the general sessions.

It's fairly obvious how the descriptor "affordable" comes into play. With a price tag of $99.95 it's hard to argue that there is a better deal for this much information without actually sending your entire team to a worship conference. And unfortunately, churches have not been impervious to the economic downturn, so some of them may find the idea of "Conference In A Box" a great alternative to sending their teams and worship personell to a conference this year.

As someone who has been leading worship services and teams for 15 years, I can tell you that "Conference In A Box" does not skimp on the information. The classes contained in the set really do cover all the bases and skill levels. To complete the learning experience, there is DVD-ROM content which includes the Workshop Houndouts for all the sessions. CMS has done a great job putting this together, I have not seen another resource like this that is so complete and affordable. Well done CMS!
