What do you do after your last album received glowing reviews and tremendous sales? Not only that, but it was your first foray into Christian worship music, as distinct from Contemporary Christian Music? Add to that the fact that your heart not only overflows with expressive songs waiting to be written, but you also want to sing songs that have touched you from others?

If youre Phillips, Craig and Dean, you create Let Your Glory Fall. Their 10th album offers three originals from the band, as well as seven interpretations of songs they most admire, from artists such as Stuart Townend, Matt Redman, Tim Hughes, Benton Brown, Chris Tomlin, Joel Houston, Trevor Horn and more.

Dan Deans My Praise opens the album and it is an excellent showcase of all that has made these guys so popular for so many years: upbeat rhythms, great arrangements and sweet harmonies. Randy Phillips gives us Only You, a timeless theme acknowledging the uniqueness of our God. What Kind of Love is This is Shawn Craigs offering, and it is a perfect Good Friday/Easter song as it sings about the price Jesus paid. All three of these songs would fit into most Sunday morning worship services.

It is, however, the other songs, and the way this group arranges them that are the reason I recommend this CD. Hats off to producer Nathan Nockels (Passion One Day, Watermark, Point of Grace). His tasteful brush on each song combines just the right measure of instrumentation, vocals and fresh presentation.

Hallelujah (Your Love is Amazing), for example, comes alive after I thought Id heard it once too often on Sunday morning. The same with Tim Hughes Here I Am to Worship. Hillsongs Every Day jumps out at you and, even though it has a distinct pop sound, I couldnt help singing it over and over in my mind during my workday.

Check out the rest of the songs on the album. Its like a fresh Best of worship CD. For those of you that lead worship, it will give you some interesting ideas for how to arrange the songs that have become staples. It may even get you to take a look at other songs youre doing and see if you can rearrange them.

Let your Glory Fall is an excellent release and good starting point for anyone not familiar with PCD.
