The Singing News Magazine is the largest selling and most popular consumer/fan magazine in Christian Music. Each year over 250,000 subscribers are polled to determine the top ten songs in the Southern Gospel genre. The Singing News Fan Awards are the most prestigious awards in Southern Gospel music and are given to the very best in each category. The awards are given in September (Southern Gospel Music Month) at the National Quartet Convention. Highlights of the awards show are the performances of the top songs of the year and the announcement of the Song of the Year.

Each year, New Haven Records and the Singing News Magazine bring together these top ten songs in one collection, the best compilation in Southern Gospel music. For the tenth year this tradition of excellence continues with the ten most dynamic songs and artists of 2006.
