Both The Desperation Band and Parsley have enjoyed considerable success with their separate worship music ventures and now these have combined their talents on this amazing CD. These artists both hail from New Life Church in Colorado Springs, so the sound is big and energetic enough to get a church of 15,000 worshipers going.The songwriting on this CD is simply awesome. What else would we expect from the people that brought us songs like "Amazed" and "I Am Free"? Veteran writers Jon Egan, Glenn Packiam, Jared Anderson, and Ross Parsley all contribute to the writing effort. The 14 songs on this CD range from the loud, fast, everyone-sing-at-the-top-of-your-lungs anthems to the quiet piano & strings ballads. Each song has its own personality and is able to stand on its own which is one of the benefits of having so many great writers contributing to one CD. We are even treated to a great rendition of Packiam/Baloche's "Your Name."One of the most powerful moments on the CD is during Pakiam's "Everlasting God" where the congregation can be heard singing "You never change, You're still the same/You are the Everlasting God". It's a poignant reminder that through life's unexpected challenges and hurts, God remains on His throne and is always worthy of our worship.Production wise, it's not difficult to find similarities between this CD and a Hillsong or United CD. This is probably due to the big sound of mega-church worship done well. However, "My Savior Lives" seems to have a clearer, lighter, less bulky sound of worship CDs from other churches their size. Overall, this CD is jam packed with songs that could easily be used in Sunday morning congregational worship, as well as personal Monday-Saturday worship.Review by Jeremy Dunn
