Best-selling worship band Hillsong United is back with a new project to help spread their encouraging message of The I Heart Revolution. This 2 CD release is made up of 28 Hillsong United favorite songs recorded live over the last few years as the band shared compassion and love to people in North America, South America, Africa, Europe, Asia and Australia. It also includes NEW studio recordings as bonus tracks.

 Review

Some folks may view "The I Heart Revolution" as a best of CD. It is after all a double disc collection of songs that have made appearances on past Hillsong United albums. And while it's true that there is only one new song on the CD, the material on "The I Heart Revolution" is all previously unreleased. The CD features 28 songs that have all been recorded live in various places during United's world travels.

Although there isn't any new news (save the one new song)on "The I Heart Revolution", the CD is still commanding and stands up very well to previous United CDs. This is largely in part to the amazing "liveness" of the recording. This is arena style rock worship at it's best. The music is loud, the crowd is loud and the band plays a lot with the arrangements. There are a ton of great live moments on this CD that are done in the spirit of early Delirious live recordings. Hearing these guys play at various dates in various locations really brings out a dimension to that hasn't come out in ther annual night of worship recordings.

The new song "You'll Come" is one of those songs that so perfectly combines the message of deliverance and praise while lifting Jesus on high. It moved me to tears the first listen. For all of United's cool, hip presentation, it's the songs that ultimately make the CD worth listening to.

Despite this glowing review, I am not really a follower of Hillsong United's music. I do some of ther songs in my worship sets but I am more of a piano driven rock, small venue live worship kind of guy when it comes to listening to worship recordings. That being said, I love this CD. I'm thankful that I took the time to give "The I Heart Revolution" a good listen otherwise I would have missed out on one of the best CDs to come out so far this year.
