A devout atheist, Pearce grew up in Texas playing in rock bands and mocking God. Ironically, in order to refute the claims of Christ, Ted plunged into the Scriptures, and was dramatically transformed by the accuracy of prophecy and the compassion of Jesus—who Ted recognized as the Jewish Messiah. It was natural for Pearce to find a church home among Messianic Jewish believers, where the Lord redeemed Ted’s music and gave him a passion for the salvation of the Jewish people.
