You might be asking yourself, Is there really a need for yet another worship record? Third Day is. On the liner notes for OFFERINGS II the band asks that very question. And their answer? God is not through with Third Day and worship. God is not through with any of us and worship. We all have offerings we can give. As musicians, we choose to give our music.

Worship has always been part of what THIRD DAY is about. From their live concerts to their personal lives, the members of the Atlanta, Georgia-based band have always made it clear that they value worship. For those of you who were fortunate enough to have discovered their first Offerings CD, the groups passion is already plainly known. With a heady mixture of Southern Rock and reflective songs of meditation, these five young men loudly, and boldly declare their love for Christ. However, if you're one of those who are new to this band's music, let me put it this way, If the members of Delirious had grown up in the deep South, instead of merry old England, youd end up with Southern Rock Worship sound of Third Day.

This second Offerings is a live recording of the bands most worshipful songs, and a few favorites performed during their COME TOGETHER tour last year. While the band plays like an alternative rock version of the Allman Brothers, vocalist Mac Powells strong, resonate voice shakes the rafters and soothes the soul all at once. God Of Wonders, a song originally made popular when sung by Third Days lead vocalist as part of the CITY ON A HILL recording, is performed here live in concert along with Michael Tait from DC Talk and its easily one of the CDs best tracks.

This album is sprinkled with fervent live cuts and polished studio tracks alike, creating a nice tension between the two. Songs like Creed, Offering and You Are So Good To Me are what you might expect from a Christian Rock band, but anthems like the Medley, where Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus, With Or Without You and Your Love Oh Lord are all churned together into a single worship song, are certainly outside the realm of what a typical worship band might do on Sunday morning. Overall, this is a great Cd to listen to in the car, or to inspire you during private worship times. Some tracks might make it into your worship bands set, but this is mostly one to listen to and enjoy. This band does know how to rock. But, better still, they know how to worship, and they prefer the latter.
