Our mission

Our mission statement is simple- "increase worship in the earth". We are a Christian owned company that believes that we have been specifically called to increase worship in the earth. We believe we are primarily tasked with doing this by equipping the church. The WorshipMusic.com website exists to primarily provide the church with resources that equip it to do that task. We believe this is just one way to equip the church, and one way to increase worship. Nonetheless, as this is part of the specific purpose of our company, it is an important part we feel called to play, and we are honored to be here to help serve in this way.

Our history

Back in 1993 Kim Gentes was one of the first people to begin to use the wonders of the internet in a way that would help resource the church in worship. Before ecommerce had even begun, he was working to create an online discussion group (which eventually became the Worship List) devoted specifically to resourcing worship related ministries. For years, Kim helped to grow and encourage worship throughout the internet, and helped developed the premier free resource site on worship - the Worship Resource Center (part of praise.net). In 1997, Kim and Lockley Gentes (brothers) formed a company with the original intent of developing software and websites. But in early 1998, they both felt a divine direction to focus on just one website- their own.

WorshipMusic.com was born, and opened for business in April 1998. The early years were typical of so many small business stories, with the computer, products and packing all happening in a small corner of a room at home. But the direction and certainty of God's call to resource the church remained the focus, not the success of a business. By 2000, the company had grown to 3 employees and moved into its first office location in sunny Phoenix, Arizona. Over the years, the company has continued to grow, as God has given opportunity, but we have maintained our constant focus on resourcing the church in worship.

Today, WorshipMusic.com employs 11 full time staff and serves hundreds of thousands of customers around the globe. We are still looking to play our part in resourcing the church and increasing worship in the earth.
