Vocal Aerobics Exercise Descriptions/Purposes:

• Mmm Groov’n 5 Tone - Warm Up. Get the mechanism working. Begin development of the ‘Righteous Buzz.’
• BossaToneA! And SaMmmba - Warm Up. Establish a consistent ‘Righteous Buzz’ through entire range.
• Hip Hop’NG, NG-Schmultz’d and Top 5/6 Tone turn - Develop the ‘Tweeter’ and begin maximizing your tone. This is the foundation for achieving your total high range.
• Fats Domi-Nin and The Lil of the Jungle (Substitute Nan for Lil) - Extend the range without gripping with the throat.
• Begin the BegeeNG-AH - Develop an even, consistent tone between the ‘Tweeter’ and ‘Midrange Horn’ throughout the entire vocal range. Develop vocal muscle tone (pun intended) that assists in keeping the sound ‘Focused.’
• Funky Siren - Develop a smooth, consistent tone between the ‘Tweeter,’ ‘Midrange Horn,’ and ‘Woofer.’ Increase vocal flex-ability.
• Breathing: It’s in the Rap and Breathing in the House - Expand lung capacity. Develop ‘Breath Management’ skills.
• Hee HaHaHaHaw! - Strengthen the diaphragm and develop the ‘Tire Tube’ support system.
• HaHaHaHa Hot Salsa! - More of the same with a Salsa feel.
• Jo A Jo A Jazz - Extend the lower range and work the chest voice.
• Cha Cho Chu ChaCha - Improve enunciation. Eliminate tension in the throat. Assist in the development of ‘Focused Sound.’
• Tongue Out Swing - Eliminate tension in the throat and tongue. Train muscles to be relaxed.
• BasssaToneA’ Warm Down - Begin Cool down period. Allow muscles and tissues to adjust for normal activity. Remind ourselves of the ‘Righteous Buss’ and that it should be a part of our daily life.
