Some folks may not know Brenton Brown by name, but many will certainly know him by his works. He has written many important modern worship songs like "Lord Reign in Me" and he penned "Your Love Is Amazing" with Brian Doerksen. He has been a major force in the Vineyard UK worship scene and was involved in their extraordinary string of ground breaking CDs including "Hungry." With all of his contributions to modern worship music, Brenton is just now releasing his first major solo record called "Everlasting God."

Wall to wall, the songs on "Everlasting God" are fresh and definitely useable in most worship settings. Even some of the old favorites like "Your Love Is Amazing" and "Lord Reign in Me" are sporting shiny new arrangements. Produced by Nathan Nockels, this CD has the high production standards that one would expect while retaining an organic quality. In other words the listener isn't smothered by over-produced keyboard washes and loops, but rather the songs are allowed to breathe, making for an enjoyable worship experience.

Lyrically, Brenton is a disciplined songwriter, keeping the words on-topic, concise and manages to steer clear of clichés. This style of songwriting results in uncomplicated and memorable worship songs. There's not much to dislike about "Everlasting God." It's a wonderful collection of relevant modern worship music which makes this a great CD and a great resource.
