This passion CD revisits old hymns sung to contemporary beats. "New" meets "old", reflecting how God's truths transcend time, as Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega (the beginning and the end). "Passion - Hymns Ancient and Modern" bridges generations with the use of traditional hymns orated by contemporary rhythm.

For me, this CDre-connected me to the first days when I learned about Jesus in my traditional United Methodist Church as a child. Memories of the older saints who robustly sang these hymns come to mind through new musical arrangements that feature the same basic melodies but use contemporary instruments and rhythms more common today. As a result of listening to this CD, I feel thankfulness for the proclamation of who God is and His love for me that began years ago primarily through the singing of these traditional hymns.

In my opinion, this CD has multiple uses in several settings:

1. Private worship- to remember those days of old, remembering our "first love."
2. Congregational worship- good not only for blending traditional and contemporary worship sets, but great for calling Christians across generations to celebrate those ancient truths of our incredible God who has called us and loved us unceasingly over all time.
3. A Call to worship- to play before, during and after church meetings and events, reminding us once again of our rich Christian heritage that traditional hymns often speak about.
4. A Great Gift- for both young and old believers, sending the message that God is still God yesterday, today and forever.

The brilliant worship styles of Matt Redman and the David Crowder Band among others breathe life into the traditional hymns on this CD, "Passion: Hymns Ancient and Modern, Live Songs of Our Faith."
