Rising quickly to the front of the pack, David Crowder Band has established itself as one of the most consistently impressive worship bands on the scene today. With the release of "The Lime CD", they further reveal their talent for energetic live worship. Drawing comparisons to Delirious? "Live And In The Can" release of a few years ago, "Lime" is a gift to fans new and old. With live versions of songs that have appeared on previous releases, bonus versions of concert favorites and one new song, this is an automatic purchase for anyone who has already gobbled up all of the Passion Cd's where Crowder and Company appear, as well as their first two releases and every compilation in between. "Make A Joyful Noise/I Will Not Be Silent" is an almost-perfect intro song to this eight song collection. The Chorus builds to an "edge-of-tears" climax where Crowder's passion for worship is plainly evident. This is followed by a rousing send-up of David Ruis' "Every Move I Make" where a strangely hypnotic guitar riff, combined with an over-the-top audience response nearly spins things out of control. "Sing Like The Saved" is an amazing track here also. Crowder works the crowd into a frenzy with a shouting, dancing, raving, screaming, euphoria-inducing sing-along of Matt Redman's classic song, complete with techno-bleeps and scratching accompaniment. You'll probably wish you could have been in the crowd when the audience participation sections are playing, but you can always dance and scream at home as long as no one's watching you. "Undignified" is a relentless ball of bouncing energy where you can almost see the audience bouncing on their toes to every beat as they shout "La-La-La-La" at the top of their lungs, loving every minute of it. The one new song is actually an instrumental track that, although musically interesting, may leave those starved for a new worship song a little hungry for more. Still, not many these days can do what David Crowder Band does with a great song and an eager crowd. Their exuberance is off-the-charts and their love for Jesus is unbridled and raw, just the way their fans like it. Review by Keith Giles
