 Review

Sounding like the sequel to “Shake Off The Dust” Winds of Worship #15 is arguably a collection of some of the best worship songs and leaders to come out of the Great White North. David Ruis, Andy Park, Monique Tute, Dan Wilt and Brian and Loralee Thiessen are all present and accounted for on this most recent offering in the live worship series from VMG that features worship from conferences all over the world.

In keeping with the international sentiment of the series, David Ruis performs “Megwich Kchi-Manitou”, which in the native Indian Ojibway tribal tongue means “Thank You, Great God” and is aptly explained in the liner notes should any listener scratch their heads at the lyrics.

While some of the songs here vary from the typical Vineyard Worship fare, (Paul Simon-inspired horn sounds on “I Give Thanks” and the down-home, Hammond-organ-laced Rock and Roll on “Faith”) the overall recording is mostly on the quiet side of the spectrum.

The track listing reads like a best-of recording for fans of Vineyard Worship, preferring to simply worship to the tune of some of Vineyard’s best Canadian-penned offerings such as “I Will Lift My Hands”, “Every Move I Make”, “When It’s All Said And Done”, “Thank You, Lord”, “Great God” and “Faithful One”.

This recording is a great testament to the monumental impact that Canada has had on both the Vineyard Worship and the Church as a whole. If you’ve been following this live series from Vineyard music, then you’ll want to add this one to your collection.
