Review

If you're familiar with the names Sheri Keller and Casey Corum then you don't need any convincing to know that this is one incredible CD. For the rest of you, this review will attempt to describe the fluid voice of Casey Corum and the sensational new talent that is found in Sheri Keller. One could well imagine that the day the producers at VMG heard Sheri's fantastic indie solo debut from Sheri Keller a shout of 'Thank You, God!' could be heard echoing down the hallways, or at least, 'Quick, get her on the phone!'

Sheri is a bright young talent that Vineyard Music is blessed to call their own. Her songs are outside the recent Vineyard vein that has come to be known as the 'California Sound' from previous VMG recordings in the TFH series. Hailing from Indiana, it's no wonder that her songs and her inspiration is drawn from a different well and the taste is sweet and welcome.

Sheri's 'New Song' opens 'Offering Of Love' with a non-stop urgency to declare 'You've given my heart a new song/ And my heart can't be silent anymore/ Oh I can sing, for I am not afraid to do Your will Lord/ 'Cause to live is Christ, to die is gain..' and the way she throws back her head and belts out these words, you know she means it with all her heart.

Casey Corum is the owner of one of the most silky, fluid voices ever heard by mortal ears, (or at least to be recorded by VMG). As a bonus, he's written some of the best worship songs to come out of the Vineyard in recent memory. Casey is the perfect compliment to Sheri's full throttle vocal style, bringing the mood down to an even groove when we need to take a break from Sheri's non-stop, roof-lifting, praises.

The songs here will appeal to every worship leader from the small group acoustic to the full-band Sunday Morning variety. It won't be long before people are singing 'In You' on their sofas during small group Bible studies, repeating with arms raised high the refrain of 'I'm being lost in You/ I'm being found in You/ I'm being stripped of myself and clothed in You'.

When you sing 'Without You' for the first time you will be amazed at the healing in the words 'Who would I be if You didn't love me?/ Who would I be without You?/ Who would I be if You didn't save me?/ Who would I be without You?/ Without You life would make no sense/Dreams would end without You/ Without You Spring would not appear/ Storms would never clear without You/ Without You'.

Song after song, this latest TFH really earns the title, Touching The Father's Heart, and I'm willing to bet it will touch yours too.
