Sometimes in the act of worship, there comes a moment where words fail to express the depth of the love and devotion we feel towards our God and King. Where even the simple utterance of "Abba" is too complex for our hearts and minds to process. In those moments, what we desire most is a direct connection to God, an awareness and a communion with Him that doesn't rely on any means or method of communication or translation.

"Come To The Waters" is an attempt to express, outside of the constraints of language, that wordless adoration for the King of Kings using only tone and rhythm. The listener is free to commune with God and worship outside the boundaries of remembering a set of lyrics or staying in sync with a melody. The musicians who created this recording are all completely anonymous. They have opted to allow the music, and only the music, to bear all the weight of communication. This is a truly unique recording, created by people of a specific vision, for an intentional act of total worship. At times, "Come To The Waters" has the feeling of serving as a soundtrack for an epic film you've never seen. It lands somewhere between a quiet time devotional recorded by the people who brought you the Lord Of The Rings soundtrack, but not in a bad way at all.

The songs here range from the soaring, inspirational type, to the more reflective and understated variety. To listen to this Cd is to embark on a sonic journey of spiritual meditation, and to fully experience the purpose and power of the recording that's exactly the place you'd have to put yourself in to appreciate completely.

This is not a recording that will have any impact on you if you simply allow it to be a background noise while you type at your computer. It's not a Cd that you'd want to take with you on a long distance drive, unless you also bring the giant-size coffee thermos as a precautionary measure.

"Come To The Waters" is, as the liner notes so aptly convey, where you can "hear the call of God beckoning you to journey inward to the quiet place, away from the noise of life. Find joyous refreshment at the fountain of life that overflows into a healing freedomnot from something...but for something. He waits for you. He calls you. Come to the waters."

The person who will most enjoy this recording is the person who has a specific, intentional desire to unplug from this world that takes away our life, and to come before the One who gives refreshing and brings real life to those who seek after Him.

This CD takes more than a few risks and in my opinion succeeds at every point in the curve. It's not something for everyone, but for those who come with a genuine thirst, "Come To The Waters" is refreshment for a weary soul.
